Cleaners N4 Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Cleaners N4 has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our business operations or within our supply chains. Cleaners N4 provides cleaning services and engages with a range of suppliers for equipment, products, and subcontracted services. We recognise our responsibility to uphold the highest standards of integrity and respect for human rights.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Cleaners N4 operates a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, bonded labour, and child labour. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to prevent any form of exploitation. This commitment applies to all employees, contractors, agency workers, and suppliers engaged by Cleaners N4.
We expect everyone who works with us or on our behalf to share this commitment. Any breach of this policy by staff may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Any supplier found to be involved in or complicit with modern slavery will face immediate investigation and may have their contract suspended or terminated.
Our Supply Chain and Due Diligence
Our supply chain includes providers of cleaning materials, equipment, uniforms, and facility services, as well as labour providers and subcontractors. We acknowledge that some areas of the cleaning industry and wider supply chain can be at higher risk of labour exploitation, particularly where low-skilled or migrant labour is involved.
To address these risks, Cleaners N4 has introduced due diligence procedures when selecting new suppliers and reviewing existing ones. We assess suppliers on their labour practices, working conditions, use of subcontractors, and compliance with employment and immigration laws. We expect suppliers to maintain clear and transparent employment records, including proof that staff work voluntarily, receive fair pay, and have the freedom to leave employment.
Supplier Audits and Ongoing Monitoring
Cleaners N4 conducts proportionate audits and reviews of suppliers, focusing on those operating in higher-risk categories or territories. These audits may include reviewing relevant documentation, requesting details of labour policies, and, where appropriate, conducting site visits to understand working conditions and recruitment practices.
We require suppliers to confirm that they do not engage in modern slavery and that they have systems in place to identify and address risks in their own operations and supply chains. Where areas of concern are identified, we work with suppliers to develop corrective action plans, set clear timelines for improvements, and monitor progress. If a supplier fails to make satisfactory improvements or cooperate fully, we reserve the right to end the relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Cleaners N4 encourages an open culture in which staff, contractors, and other stakeholders can raise concerns about potential modern slavery risks in confidence. Individuals who suspect any instance of forced labour, trafficking, or exploitation in our operations or supply chains are encouraged to report their concerns to a manager or senior member of the business.
We are committed to ensuring that no one suffers any detrimental treatment as a result of reporting a concern in good faith. All reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated promptly. Where appropriate, we will liaise with relevant authorities and cooperate fully with any external investigations.
Training and Awareness
Cleaners N4 provides guidance and awareness-raising for managers and relevant staff so they can identify indicators of modern slavery and understand how to respond. This includes recognising signs of coercion, control of identity documents, unreasonable deductions from wages, or restrictions on freedom of movement. By equipping our people with this knowledge, we strengthen our ability to prevent and detect exploitation.
Review, Accountability and Continuous Improvement
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by the Cleaners N4 leadership team to ensure it remains effective, up to date, and reflective of our business activities and external environment. As part of this review, we evaluate the effectiveness of our due diligence, supplier audits, reporting channels, and any investigations carried out during the year.
We are committed to continually improving our processes and controls, learning from best practice, and adapting our approach as risks evolve. Cleaners N4 will update this statement where necessary and communicate any significant changes to staff and relevant suppliers, reinforcing our shared responsibility to eliminate modern slavery from our business and supply chains.
